Light Up the Basin

Celebrate the arrival of the Christmas season with the lighting up of the Copper Basin on November 25, 2011. The cities of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee have coordinated their festive lighting ceremonies to kick off the holidays. The evening will begin at 6 PM with a tree lighting at the United Community Bank in McCaysville, Georgia. It will then proceed along with carolers to the next stop at the Copperhill, Tennessee branch of BB & T where another tree lighting ceremony will be held. On to Miners Park for the lighting of the Copperhill Yule tree and last but not least is the lighting of the wreath on the Old Steel Bridge.
This event coincides with the opening of the Copper Basin Christmas Village where there will be festivities going on every Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 5:30 PM through December 17, 2011. Stores will be open late and carolers will be singing, not to mention Santa will be in town located at Christmas is Here.
